# Terms of service

Last updated 24 September 2026.

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Good for Bots. If you are a consumer, the law may give you more rights than these terms describe. Nothing here takes those rights away.

## Who we are

Good for Bots (goodforbots.com) is run by a sole trader registered in Poland:

- **PawlicaWeb Mateusz Pawlica**
- ul. Rolna 37/18, 43-100 Tychy, Poland
- Polish tax ID (NIP): 6472568432
- Email: [support@goodforbots.com](mailto:support@goodforbots.com)
- Phone: [+48 572 645 250](tel:+48572645250)

[About us](https://goodforbots.com/about) explains why Good for Bots exists, who founded it and how the score is made.

These terms cover everything we provide on goodforbots.com, including scans, reports, accounts, the badge and paid plans. They are our terms for services provided electronically. Our [privacy policy](https://goodforbots.com/privacy) explains how we handle personal data.

You can read the site in any current web browser. Signing in and buying also need JavaScript and an email address that can receive our messages.

## What Good for Bots does

Good for Bots checks how easily language models and AI agents can read a website. Our crawler, GoodForBotsBot, reads a site’s homepage and the public files that help bots understand it. It then gives the site a score from 0 to 100, a public report and a badge the owner can embed. Reports are listed in a public directory.

The checks, weights and score bands are published on [Standards and scoring](https://goodforbots.com/standards). [Our bot](https://goodforbots.com/bot) describes how the crawler behaves.

## What we promise

- **The score is never for sale.** Paying does not change a score, hide a score or remove a listing. Free and paid listings are scored the same way.
- **Removing a listing is free and unconditional.** You never have to pay, give a reason or have an account.
- **Our crawler follows your rules.** It identifies itself, keeps to a small, declared request budget and respects robots.txt. A robots.txt refusal means no score.

## Using the site and your account

You can browse the directory and read reports without an account. Anyone can request the first scan of a website that is not yet listed. Scan requests are limited per visitor, per domain and per day, and may include an automated check that you are not a bot.

An account lets you claim websites, request rescans, buy plans and manage purchases. To create one you must be at least 16 and give your name and an email address. We sign you in with single-use links sent to that address, so keep your mailbox secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. An account is for one person; do not share it.

You can stop using your account at any time. To close it and delete its data, email [support@goodforbots.com](mailto:support@goodforbots.com); we do this within one month. Websites the account claimed stay in the directory without an owner. To take a listing down, see [Removing a listing](https://goodforbots.com/terms#removal).

## Claiming a website

Claiming proves that you control a website. You can verify it in four ways: a meta tag on the homepage, a file at /.well-known/goodforbots.txt, a DNS TXT record, or a confirmation email to webmaster@ or hostmaster@ on the site’s domain. Claiming is free and does not change the score.

Claim only websites you control or are authorised to manage. Each listing has one owner, and we never replace an owner automatically. If you have taken over a domain or think a claim is wrong, [contact us](https://goodforbots.com/contact) and we will review it. We may cancel a claim obtained by deception or by mistake.

## Scores, reports and AI-written text

A score is an automated measurement of what our crawler could read at the time of the scan. It is not an audit or professional advice. It does not guarantee that any AI assistant or search engine will read, rank or cite a website. Websites change and so do our checks, so a new version of the scoring rules can move a score even when a site stays the same.

Some text on a report is written by an AI model from the site’s public content: the listing description, the “Through a bot’s eyes” section, the simulated quote and, for Pro listings, draft llms.txt and robots.txt files. It is labelled, and it can be wrong. The simulated quote is not a live answer from any AI assistant. Review any draft before you publish it on your site.

Scores come only from the scanner; we do not edit them by hand. If you think a report is wrong, [tell us](https://goodforbots.com/contact). A confirmed error in a check is fixed for every website at once.

## Removing a listing and opting out

Anyone who manages a website can ask us to remove its listing on the [removal page](https://goodforbots.com/remove). It is free and needs no account and no reason. We check that the request comes from someone with authority over the site. We then hide its directory entry, report, history and badge, stop scanning it and keep it from being listed again.

You can also stop our crawler in robots.txt, as [Our bot](https://goodforbots.com/bot) explains. The site then has no score and leaves the directory. Its last report may still be reachable at its address, but it is marked not to be indexed by search engines.

## The badge

You may embed the Good for Bots badge for your own website free of charge, using the code on the [badge page](https://goodforbots.com/badge) or in your report. The badge always shows the live result and links to the report. Do not alter it, show a copy with a different or out-of-date score, or display it for a site it does not belong to. We may change its design.

On the Free plan, a badge we find on your site makes its directory link dofollow, as the badge page explains. The badge never changes the score.

## Pro and Featured

The [pricing page](https://goodforbots.com/pricing) shows the current prices and what each plan includes. You need an account with a verified email address to buy.

**Pro** is a one-time payment for one listing. Only the verified owner of a claimed listing can buy it. It adds the features the pricing page lists for Pro, such as the full fix list, more frequent rescans, monitoring emails and a public score history; [Changes to the service](https://goodforbots.com/terms#changes-service) explains how features may change. Pro belongs to the listing, not to the person who paid: it stays if the listing changes owner, and it never renews. It lasts for as long as we run Good for Bots. If we ever close the service, we will announce it at least 30 days in advance.

**Featured** is a monthly subscription for a place in the Featured block on our home page. You can feature any public listing that has a score, including one you do not own. Buying it gives you no ownership or control of that listing. It buys the placement and a dofollow link from it, and nothing else: not a point of the score, not a better band, not a change to the report.

A Featured subscription renews every month at the price you subscribed at, until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time under Orders in your account or in the Stripe billing portal. The placement continues until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing more is charged. If a renewal payment fails, the placement stops at the end of the paid period. If the featured listing is removed, opts out or loses its score, its placement stops showing; tell us, and we will cancel the subscription and refund the unused part of the current period.

**Paying.** We use Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe acts as merchant of record through Link, and your purchase is identified as Sold through Link. Checkout shows the full amount, currency and any tax before you pay, along with the payment terms and these service terms. We never see your full card number. Access starts when payment is confirmed. We send an email about your purchased access; Link sends your receipt and invoice and provides payment support and order management at [Link](https://app.link.com/). We remain responsible for Good for Bots and its features.

## Refunds and your right to withdraw

**14-day refund.** You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your Pro payment or of the first payment of a Featured subscription. You do not need to give a reason. Email [support@goodforbots.com](mailto:support@goodforbots.com) or reply to your payment confirmation, and say which purchase you mean. We refund to your original payment method within 14 days of your request. The purchase then ends: the listing returns to Free, or the placement and subscription stop.

Monthly Featured renewals are not refunded, because you can cancel before any renewal. This does not affect the refund described under [Pro and Featured](https://goodforbots.com/terms#paid-plans) when a featured listing leaves the directory, or your rights if something you bought does not work as described.

You can also request a refund through [Link support](https://support.link.com/topics/sold-through-link). Stripe may issue a refund under its Managed Payments policies. Our refund policy does not limit those refunds or your statutory rights.

**If you are a consumer**, this refund also covers your legal right to withdraw from a contract made online within 14 days without giving a reason. Any clear statement that you want to withdraw is enough, for example an email. You do not need to use a form.

## Fair use

Please do not:

- get around scan limits, automate our forms or send requests on a scale that burdens the service;
- claim a website, or ask us to remove one, without authority over it;
- forge badge requests or otherwise try to make our systems record something that did not happen;
- misrepresent a score, for example with an edited badge or a result a site does not have;
- crawl the site against our robots.txt, or interfere with the security or operation of the service;
- send unlawful content through our forms or use Good for Bots to break the law.

We may limit or suspend access that breaks these rules, as described under [Suspension and ending](https://goodforbots.com/terms#ending).

## Content and intellectual property

The site, its design, the reports, scores, texts and the badge are ours. You may quote our reports and scores and link to them, including in articles, documentation and AI tools, as long as you name Good for Bots and link to the report. Please do not present our work as your own.

Logos, preview images and excerpts of a website’s own files belong to that website’s owner. We show them only to identify the site and explain its results. If you own such material and want it taken down, [contact us](https://goodforbots.com/contact) or [remove the listing](https://goodforbots.com/remove).

## Changes to the service

Good for Bots evolves. We add, change and retire checks, adjust weights and bands, and improve features. New scoring rules apply to every listing at once, paid or not.

We may also change how a paid feature works when we have a good reason, such as the cost of running scans, security or a change in the law. One example is how often Pro listings are rescanned. We will email affected customers in advance, and the change will cost you nothing. If you are a consumer and a change affects you more than slightly, you may end the contract within 30 days, with the refund the law provides.

We work to keep the service available but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted. Scans, emails and pages may be delayed or unavailable during maintenance or outages.

## Liability

We run Good for Bots with care, but provide it as it is and as available. Scores, reports and AI-written text are information, not a guarantee of any outcome. You decide what to do with them.

If you use Good for Bots for business, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability to a business customer for all claims is limited to what that customer paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for harm caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for personal injury, or any other liability the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights, including your rights when a digital service does not conform to the contract.

## Complaints

If something you use or bought from us does not work as it should, email [support@goodforbots.com](mailto:support@goodforbots.com). Describe the problem. For a purchase, include the listing and the email address you paid with. We reply within 14 days. If we accept the complaint, we fix the problem, or reduce the price or refund you where it cannot be fixed.

## Suspension and ending

You may stop using Good for Bots at any time and ask us to close your account.

We may suspend or close an account, cancel a claim or refuse a purchase if it is used in serious or repeated breach of these terms, or to protect the service or other people. Where we can, we warn you first and give you a chance to put things right, and we always tell you why. If we close an account without any breach on your part, we refund any Featured period it paid for and did not use. Suspending an account never changes a score.

## Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we change the service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change affects account holders, we email them at least 14 days before it takes effect, so you can cancel a subscription or close your account first if you do not agree. A purchase stays under the terms in force when you made it, except for the feature changes described under [Changes to the service](https://goodforbots.com/terms#changes-service).

## Law and disputes

Polish law governs these terms. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. Disputes with business customers go to the court with jurisdiction over our address.

We would rather sort out any problem directly, so please write to us first. Consumers in Poland can get free help from a municipal or district consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa). Consumers elsewhere in the EU can contact the European Consumer Centre in their country.
