## Signals

Each one you pick narrows the list: a site must have them all.

### Agent capabilities

- [API catalog](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=api-catalog): 1 site. Lists the site's public APIs in one standard place, so an agent can find and use them without reading the docs. A bonus: it earns a badge and never costs points.
- [auth.md](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=auth-md): 1 site. A simple file that tells AI agents how to sign in and get access. A bonus: it earns a badge and never costs points.
- [A2A agent card](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=a2a-agent-card): 1 site. Describes the site's own AI agent in the A2A format, so other agents can find it and hand it work. A bonus: it earns a badge and never costs points.
- Agent Skills index: 0 sites. Lists reusable instructions the site publishes for AI agents, with descriptions and download locations. The index earns a badge; the skill downloads themselves are not verified.
- [Web Bot Auth](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=web-bot-auth): 1 site. Publishes the keys the site's own bots sign their requests with, so other websites can verify them. The badge checks the keys; the bots' requests are not observed.
- [ACP commerce](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=acp): 1 site. Publishes how agents can connect to its Agentic Commerce Protocol integration. The badge confirms discovery metadata; purchases are not tested.

### Standards

- [llms.txt](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=llms-txt): 2 sites. A short guide to the site written for AI models: what it is and which pages matter most.
- [robots.txt](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=robots-txt): 3 sites. The file that tells crawlers where they may go. Every other rule a site gives to bots starts here.
- [Sitemap](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=sitemap): 3 sites. A list of the site's pages, so a bot sees everything that exists instead of guessing from links.
- [Descriptive llms.txt](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=llms-txt-quality): 2 sites. The llms.txt describes what is behind each link, so a model knows which pages are worth reading.
- [llms-full.txt or .md pages](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=llms-full-txt): 2 sites. The content is also available as plain Markdown, in one llms-full.txt file or as separate .md pages. Models can read it without the HTML.
- [Markdown negotiation](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=markdown-negotiation): 1 site. Pages come back as clean Markdown when a bot asks for it: just the content, without menus, styling and scripts.
- [AI crawler rules](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=ai-crawler-rules): 1 site. The site says which AI bots may visit, for training, search or answering questions. Blocking some is fine; what counts is making a choice.
- [Content Signals](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=content-signals): 1 site. The site says how its content may be used: for search, in AI answers or to train AI. Any mix of yes and no counts.
- [schema.org JSON-LD](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=schema-org): 3 sites. Structured data on the homepage says what the site is, such as a company, a product or an article, so machines don't have to guess.
- [Semantic HTML](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=semantic-html): 3 sites. The page has a clear structure: a main content area, headings in order, a header and a footer. A bot can tell the content from the rest.
- [Crawlable navigation](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=crawlable-navigation): 3 sites. Observed homepage navigation exposes usable page addresses and section targets in HTML. Destinations are not fetched by this check.
- [Named links and buttons](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=control-names): 3 sites. Links and buttons in the collected homepage HTML have names recoverable from text, labels or native alternatives, including icon controls.
- [Named form fields](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=form-semantics): 1 site. Observed homepage fields have recoverable names and recognizable input semantics. Submission behavior is not tested.
- [Control roles and states](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=control-semantics): 3 sites. Homepage controls meet static checks for roles, required states and relationship targets, using native HTML semantics where available.
- [Typed links](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=link-headers): 1 site. The page links to versions made for machines, such as a Markdown copy or an API description, so an agent can go straight to them.
- [Canonical URL](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=canonical-url): 3 sites. Each page names the one address that should be indexed and cited, so an agent quoting it links to the right URL.
- [Working section links](https://goodforbots.com/directory/category/companies.md?capability=section-links): 3 sites. Links to part of a page, such as a table of contents or a skip link, lead to that section instead of the top of the page.

## About Companies & Agencies

Company websites often assume the visitor already understands the business. A homepage promises transformation, shows a row of logos and asks for a call, while the actual service remains hard to name. An assistant researching suppliers needs something more specific to distinguish one organisation from another.

Useful corporate pages explain the work, the intended customer and the scope of delivery. Case studies are especially helpful when they separate the customer's problem, the company's contribution and the reported result. The identity behind the site should be clear enough to connect its service descriptions with its contact information.

The report can show whether our crawler reached the company’s public information. It cannot verify customers or performance claims; check the company’s references before choosing a supplier.

## What to look for

Use these questions when reading the sites themselves. They are guidance for this category, not additional scoring checks.

### Services with a defined scope

Specific deliverables and audiences communicate more than a broad industry label. Readers should be able to explain what engaging the company would involve.

### Case studies with attribution

A useful case study identifies the work performed and the context of the result. A customer logo alone does not explain the relationship.

### A consistent organisational identity

Names, locations and contact information should make it clear which organisation operates the site, especially across brands or regional offices.

### Public detail before a sales call

An enquiry form can start a conversation, but basic service information should remain readable without submitting personal details.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do you verify company claims or references?

No. The scanner examines web readability and public signals. It does not verify a company's customers, results or business credentials.

### Where does a software company's product site belong?

A site focused on a web application generally fits SaaS & Web Apps; one focused on the organisation or its services fits here. The category describes the site being listed.

### Does paying change the report?

Payment does not change the score or conceal a weak result. Free and Pro use the same scoring rubric.

Questions about scores, scans and listings in general are answered in [the FAQ](https://goodforbots.com/faq).
